Ferrari as the Top International Luxury Brand

Britain’s luxury industry, represented by the Walpole association, proclaimed Ferrari as the “Best International Luxury Brand 2012” at this year’s Walpole Awards for Excellence. 

Ferrari was assigned the award as the non-British luxury goods company that has had the greatest impact around the world in terms of sales, innovation, customer service and visibility. 

The award was received by Andrea Perrone, Ferrari’s Brand Senior Vice President. Perrone stated that “Walpole has recognised the uniqueness of Ferrari as a company and a brand with a significance that goes well beyond the production of dream cars. Ferrari injects luxury, exclusivity and innovation into everything it does, and has always combined the best traditions of Italian manufacturing with an ability to look to the future." 

The London-based Walpole Association was established in 1990 to promote British luxury around the world. Every year since 2001, the association has held the “Awards for Excellence” to celebrate British and non-British companies and people who stand out in the promotion of excellence through activities in the field of global luxury, design and culture.

Best Luxury Cruiser award goes to...

The new Oyster 625 has been honoured with the prestigious title of 'Best Luxury Cruiser' in the 2012 European Yacht of the Year awards.

The announcement was made during the awards ceremony on the first day of the Düsseldorf Boat Show, where the Oyster 625, the largest completed sailboat at the show, is currently on display.

The winner is selected by a jury of journalists from eleven major European magazines in the marine industry. After exhaustive evaluation and testing and assessment of all the criteria of the nominated yachts, this spectacular Rob Humphreys designed Oyster 625 was voted number one in the best Luxury Cruiser category, beating some stiff competition to take the esteemed accolade.

Commenting on the award, Oyster CEO, David Tydeman said, "The Oyster 625 gives another dimension to the Oyster fleet and has been a winner with our owners since her launch. The next available yacht for this popular model is now Hull #12 and this huge achievement will no doubt bring new interest. Being nominated in the first place is a compliment and it's an honour to have won this title. I'd like to thank Rob Humphreys, the teams at Oyster and Southampton Yacht Services, but most of all the eleven owners who have already placed orders for this fantastic yacht."

The yacht tests for the European Yacht of the Year were carried out in Ijmuiden in some very unseasonable September weather, with winds gusting 50 knots.
