The Noisettes Album Launch at Baroque

Shingai & Dan Smith
On Thursday 29th November, The Noisettes aka Shingai Shoniwa and Dan Smith played a show stopping gig to celebrate the launch of their 3rd album 'Contact' for friends and members at London's Baroque club.

Shingai, the lead singer of the group started off the night chatting to fans in an amazing dress especially designed by PPQ which she told us she happened to wear “earlier in the day when meeting the Prime Minister, David Cameron.” The platinum gold and sequined gown included a unique gold metal crinoline which she wore over her dress.

Baroque was the ideal venue for the album launch party as it is becoming one of London’s leading live performance spaces with acts such as Mark Ronson, the Kills, Delilah and James Blake to have already taken to the stage. The duo played an intimate 45 min set which included their hits such as “Let The Music Play” and “Contact.” Surprises were in store and it became a family affair as Dan’s father came on stage to play the harmonica along to some of their smash hits, which enticed the audience to cheer even louder.

As the night wore on, the party atmosphere intensified, with guests dancing to house music by PPQ’s Percy Parker and enjoying Hoxton Gin cocktails.

PPQ brings style to new nightlife destination Baroque

Uniforms: Manager, Bartender, Buss Boy, Sound Engineer

As Chartwell Magazine is a big fan of PPQ and Baroque, we were more than delighted to hear of their collaboration. They joined forces to create vintage inspired uniforms for Baroque, a sumptuous space oozing luxury with sophisticated and extravagant decor. Inspired by this theme but driven by simplicity, PPQ went with a gold and black led colour way. The result are uniforms with 1920s, 30s vintage feel, made with the highest quality fabrics available. We are more than happy to share these beautiful sketches of the glamourous uniforms with you (click on the images to see enlarged).

PPQ after party

Kensington Roof Gardens was the venue for the fabulous PPQ after party, which celebrated a successful showcasing of the psychadelic-chic SS13 collection at LFW. Guests such as Grace Woodward, Jameela Jamil, Dionne Bromfield and Laura Whitmore were proudly seated in the show's front row, setting the tone of the evening to be contemporary cool.

Upon arrival there was a palpable but mellow buzz and an eclectic mix of people from the effortlessly chic to lookbook stylistas to those who just wanted to enjoy a designer Tanqueray cocktail or two and talk about the start of LFW.

True to PPQ form attention to detail was key with waitresses sporting the signature kooky cat-ear headpieces from their AW11 collection and campaign images from their monochromatic-mistress style AW12 collection projected on to the walls of the club to tempt fashion-hungry onlookers.

Truly the most anticipated and sought after invitation of the week so far, if you didn’t make this year’s PPQ after party, do everything you possibly can to get yourself on the guest list for next year as no fun-loving fashionista or socialite can afford to miss another event quite like this!
