GLENMORANGIE INTRODUCES EALANTA

Limited 1993 whisky with an American twist! Perfect timing for Burns Night, 25th January.

Scotland’s favourite single malt whisky – Glenmorangie – has just released the fourth annual release in its Private Edition range, in time to toast with for Burns Night. Scots Gaelic for ‘skilled and ingenious’, Ealanta is a 19 Year Old Glenmorangie, fully matured in virgin American white oak casks.

Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered for maximum texture and mouth-feel and with an RSP of £74.99, Glenmorangie Ealanta is the latest addition to the Private Edition range, comprising the highly sought after Sonnalta PX , Finealta and Artein. The Private Edition range consists of rare and interesting limited edition whiskies carefully selected from the ‘cabinet of curiosities’ of Dr Bill Lumsden, Director of Distilling and Whisky Creation at The Glenmorangie Company, that are fast becoming collectors’ items and perfect drams to toast to Robert Burns, the renowned Scottish Bard, this Burns Night.

TASTING NOTES:

What to expect from your dram of Ealanta…

The nose: a soft toffee and butterscotch aroma, then vanilla and a hint of stewed fruits with a hallmark Glenmorangie top note of menthol.
The palate: leads with candied orange peel, sugar coated almonds and sweet vanilla, wrapped in an unusual nuttiness reminiscent of Brazil nuts in toffee.

The finish: very long with virgin oak derived spices such as clove, ginger and a hint of aniseed.
